Was anybody at the GCL game yesterday to see him in his first action? Any details on his stuff and how it looked?

The Schellenger question: He was a flamethrower coming out of college with a chance at closing. He quickly was injured last year, and has played sparingly in '18. What is his velocity looking like currently? Both of these players have work to do on secondaries, command etc. Based on Zach's profile it seemed that he was barely touching 90 in spring training (see profile below). So since he has come back from injury is he looking more like the pitcher of old (Seton Hall I believe), or is he more like the pitcher of spring 2018? Here is the last fastball profile. Fastball: Sat 88-91 mph in brief 2018 Spring Training look. Reportedly has hit as high as 100 mph and sits in the low-to-mid-90s when healthy. Great question and wish I had the answer, but as Addam pointed out in yesterday's gameday thread, he's been terrific across the GCL and Greenville: 17K/1BB in 11 innings with a 0.53 WHIP and 0.79 ERA. Oh, and when he's not striking guys out he's put up a stupid 81.0% GB rate.

I have been following him (along with many others haha) since he has been drafted. Not sure why I was excited about him in particular, but I'm guessing I just love seeing pitchers with big velo. As with anything else it seems as though a ton of players get kind of forgotten about after initial hype. I get it 100%. I have been hoping to see the Schellenger of old start to tear it up, and pitch in fenway some day. His stuff was fun to watch similar to Stephen Nogosek in college (the Burdis too but not redsox relevant). The numbers for Zach have been exceptional so hopefully he's getting that stuff back for good. Aka get back to 100mph, and blow past his current mid relief profile.

Seems like he had a nice climb in the rankings. He’s obviously been shoving, but does anybody know what his velo has been like?

Extra Innings UK scouted the Greenville game tonight and said that he was hitting 95 regularly with ease. Slider also looked good.

95 coming down from that mountain isn’t fun to hit at all
