"We really don't need the whole commercial break/warm-up routine every time a new reliever comes into the game. It certainly made sense in 1884 when they only switched pitchers when the starter was attacked by pickaxe or caught consumption, and no reliever was warming up because he was busy gambling and drinking." - JD

The Drive have gone up and have 8-3 lead bottom of the 6th. Netzer with a bases loaded double the big blow so far.

Another fantastic development year under the Sox belts.
Great coverage by SP all the way around. Nobody does it better.

As the only full season affiliate to qualify for the post season, it's good to see the Drive walk away with the blue ribbon. Lots of talent on that team. Should bode well for Salem next year.
Hoping Dalbec can cut down on those Ks and Netzer continues to progress. Baldwin, too.

Not to mention the pitching.

Congratulations to the Greenville Drive, they had an awesome year.
Looking forward a healthy season from Dalbec. Netser can really handle a bat, looking forward to seeing how he progresses. I wish he could play passing SS. Hoping Groome throws 120+ Inn.
I'm in Albany NY visiting family and missed the final as a result. I thought the season would be over, I'm backing my trip up next yr

Out of curiosity, based on your wording, do you think Netser is likely to be able to play decent second base or are you only saying you wish he was a shortstop for player value reasons ?

I had my 1st 34 Winters there. It's a nice little city with some beautiful architecture. Some great bars and lots of good eateries around. I still try to get home every year.

Player value reasons. Being a college senior, he's obviously old for the level but he can handle the bat, a lot of hard contact to left and left center. With current approach he could be a 280 hitter with 8-12 HR. If he could play passable SS that would give him a utility floor but the rep was bat 1st 2nd base. So I like the profile a lot less I didn't get a great read on the defense but the rep was a bat 1st 2B. If he could play passable SS that would open up the
