I wish I could know what time Mondays game would be. I have tickets and can’t let my boss know if/when I need to leave work and my department is slammed right now. I'll do you a favor and take the tickets off your hands.... But you owe me. You strike a hard bargain.

The Astros are ridiculously talented, but so are we. This should be some sweet awesome baseball. Kind of opposite effects this year in how their offense almost over performed across the board and we underperformed across the board. Our baserunning and defense is crazy though. We have a similar archetype to the Royals WS teams. Its harder to win the Royals way with the juiced ball. I cant help but think we would be a much better team with the old ball, for some reason it has not added that much power for our hitters as it has for the rest of the league.

Red Sox are 25-23 in day games this year. Astros are 32-16.
Maybe not a big enough sample to be hugely significant...but still.

Game 1 lineup per Bradford, WEEI: Xander Bogaerts SS Eduardo Nunez DH Andrew Benintendi LF Mookie Betts CF Mitch Moreland 1B Dustin Pedroia 2B Rafael Devers 3B Sandy Leon C Jackie Bradley Jr. CF OK, Nunez has killed Verlander (6/18, 2 2B, HR, BB). In those 6 starts, Verlander has a 2.89 ERA, 43.2 IP, 32 H, 12 BB, 44 SO. The HR chased Verlander in the 9th when he was working on a 2-hit shutout. If those results are backed up by deeper metrics, it's a solid reason to start him and hit him second. I'll explain why I want Moreland 3 and Benny 5 later. Moreland is streaky and red hot right now, and has hit Verlander nearly as well in a bigger sample (10/33, 6 2B, 3 UBB). And none of that is the reason why they should be flipped.

I don't know how Verlander improved so much since joining the Asstro's, but my eyebrow is raised in any event.

You've got to be kidding me. There's a wasted roster spot. Unbelievable that Nunez is playing.

And Nunez already down. The Sox have really bungled handling of some players health.

You've got to be kidding me. There's a wasted roster spot. Unbelievable that Nunez is playing. Assuming he's done for this series and the next, they can replace him without any downside.

What the hell testing did they do with the knee. It sure couldn't have been much. Sucks for him and the Sox.

Good Lord. Nuñey looks done for the post-season.
Thanks for the memories and the effort, man. This may screw up his free agency, too.

How could Nunez have done anything at full speed before his last two attempts to play?
