Not sure where to put this, so rearrange as seen fit. Guy just resigned with the organization, that’s really disappointing. To anyone that knows, how do suspensions affect roster spots and payroll? With Lopez out, I’d have to assume some combination of Lovullo, Jeremy Rivera, and Carlos Tovar get more reps in the middle infield in Portland.

My guess would be that Lovullo would be the most likely guy already in the org that would take over as the AA UTIL. But, could also see a minor league FA get that spot.

Not sure what the question would be on payroll.
Suspended players are not on a roster at any level - majors or otherwise. They go on the restricted list.
Lopez only projected to be a bench guy. He probably gets replaced with another cheap MLFA. Rivera and CDLG were probably going to split time at SS in Portland in a crowded(-ish) MIF with Tobias, so they probably don't even need to replace him with another MIF - the thinking being that when Tobias or CDLG is ready to move up, he'll be back.
Not really an issue roster-wise.
