If the Red Sox grow tired of waiting for Boras, how about Nelson Cruz for Rick Porcello? To fill Porcello's spot, the Red Sox could sign Yu Darvish. If he were tipping his pitches in the World Series, Cora may know how to fix the issue.

The Mariners are gonna try and contend this year. Why would they give up one of their best hitters when it doesn't improve the team? Them taking on more money to rearrange the deck chairs wouldn't make sense

The reason that the Mariners should consider the trade is that they need another quality starter to compete for the playoffs and do not have the farm system to make the addition and do not seem to be appealing to the top starters in free agency.

The M's would be robbing Peter to pay Paul if they dealt away Cruz. They need him in the middle of that order. Without him their offense isn't anywhere near as good. They're not getting rid of him unless they tank this year.

Also, I don't understand why everyone wants to trade Porcello so bad. It's not quite as inexplicable as JBJ, but it's still classic "This guy is terrible and I hate him, and also I think other teams would give up a great player for him" fan mentality.
