Interesting thread. What happened to the OP -- he's "deleted" but his posts remain? Hopefully he's okay.

I was looking through this thread and was surprised to see how many home grown players the Red Sox have developed and had played for the major league team. Most of the Red Sox GM's that had success had success through the draft. Dick O'Connell chose players like Carlton Fisk Fred Lynn Dwight Evans Jim Rice Ben Ogilvie and Butch Hobson who even managed the Red Sox. Lou Gorman picked Brady Anderson Mo Vaughn and Jeff Bagwell. Haywood Sullivan. Dan Duquette chose Shea Hillenbrand Kevin Youkilis and Nomar Garciaparra. Mike port in his one-year year chose Brandon Moss and Jon Lester. Theo Epstein shows Jonathan Papelbon Dustin Pedroia Jacoby Ellsbury Mookie Betts Christian Vasquez. Ben Cherrington picked players like Devan Marrero Austin Maddox Michael Chavis Jalen Beeks and Andrew Benintendi. Dave Dombrowski has picked in only 2 drafts since being hired and his two first picks were Jason Groome and Tanner Houck who seem to be in line to continue this tradition. After looking at this list Dick O'Connell drafted two Hall of Famers and Theo Epstein won 2 World Championships and can even be credited for the 2013 World Series championship.

I read the story on Red Sox outfielder Dave Henderson. Henderson probably hit the most famous homerun in Red Sox history (next to Fisk's). Henderson hit the two-run home run in the fifth game of the 1986 ALCS. I've included the story and the video. sabr.org/bioproj/person/93d49ac6
