I was always more of a fan of Trey Ball the outfielder than the pitcher, although I know the organization felt they had to go with the arm over the bat. How much more control,do they have over him and would it make sense to try to convert him back to a position player? At 6-6 if he can generate the bat speed he’d get an awful lot of leverage on the ball.

At this point, its either try him as a hitter or cut him. I lean towards cutting him, but perhaps, given what they have invested in him, trying him ias a hitter before cutting him is warranted. Would have been nice to have picked Meadows or Judge with that pick.

Yeah, a shame Boston, like every other team in the league, passed on Judge. Shame, too, that the White Sox passed on Mike Trout. And there's angst in Baltimore town for picking Bill Rowell instead of Max Scherzer. And on, and on, and on....

If they were to make that switch do they send him to the GCL? That might be the timeline we would be looking at (hypothetically of course)

Yeah, I think it might be too little too late. The Sox could try it, but Ball might be one of the biggest busts in team history considering where he was drafted.
