Well, well...2 run lead. Gotta be OK with sac flies with our recent hitting issues. Hoping Kimbrel has his stuff tonight.

The Sox will have played 6 more games than the Yankees this season after tonight. How is that even possible?

To add insult to injury, Mookie is out of the game in his first game back. Now the offense is ten times worse all over again. He hasn't played a game in 2 weeks. They probably didn't wan't him playing much more than 9 innings.

The Sox will have played 6 more games than the Yankees this season after tonight. How is that even possible? I'm pretty sure we had a stretch of 13 games in a row, followed by an off day (our most recent off day) followed by another stretch of 13 games in a row in which we are currently in. The Yankees have had some rainouts early. And probably some more travel/off days.

I need that pitch to be called strike three. Can't walk up and place it any better.

Lol that was the same pitch that Givens walked JDM on. Umpire needs to learn what the corner looks like.

Kimbrel feeling good right now. Consistent with 98 mph heat tonight.

Gutty win. Pitched a hell of a game and the offense finally manufactured a couple of runs.
We take those.

Last 7 outs were by strikeout so that's pretty good. I love how this team consistently guts out tough wins.

Hopefully that at-bat will get Devers going. We needed that from him.
Also, Brock Holt needs to be starting everyday until Pedroia returns

Devers* got the big hit but give the star of the game to the pen.
* For those out-of-market Tonight's "Baseball Show" was talking about moving Raf to the O's for Machado and prospect.

Our pen
Workman 0.00 Poyner 1.69 - 1 win, 2 holds Kimbrel 1.93- 1 win, 21 saves Velazquez - 1.99 - 5 wins, 1 hold Barnes - 2.51 - 14 holds Kelly - 2.73 - 3 wins, 2 saves, 12 holds Hembree - 3.94 - 3 wins, holds Johnson - 4.73 - 1 win, 1 hold
not too shabby at all....does Pomeranz slip into the pen when he returns? Can't see Wright coming out of the rotation.

Can't see Wright coming out of the rotation. Baring an injury, I don't see any other avenue other than trade. Pomeranz has no options. I'm guessing Workman and Velazquez will be replaced by Pomeranz and Thornburg.
