We were going to learn the GCL fifth starter today (they haven't needed one yet), but alas, a rainout. Next time they'll need one will be next Thursday or Friday, depending on how they play the doubleheader tomorrow.

Danny Diaz with his 6th bomb of the year. He's starting to make me excited like I was with Xander and Devers.

Last player with more than 6 in the DSL for the Sox was Vic Acosta with 8 in 2013. Stanley Espinal hit 6 in 2015, but in like 3x as many at-bats of course.

I expect a big jump in the rankings for Diaz on 7/1. Easily in the top 10 for me.

Marino Campana improving...
April: 37.8% K, .620 OPS May: 24.0% K, .884 OPS June: 18.9% K, .853 OPS
He was barely walking at all before June, so the increased walks are likely a mix of pitchers being more afraid of him and him being more comfortable in his apporoach.

Whaaaat. He still is young. Doesn’t turn 21 until the season is over. At his age, there’s still plenty of time to correct his swing and approach. Three months is small sample size overall, but it’s good to see him progressing.

Danny Diaz with his 6th bomb of the year. He's starting to make me excited like I was with Xander and Devers. Love him too but I'm more excited about Antoni Flores. I'm a sucker for toolsy middle infielders with feel for the strike zone and pepper linedrives to all fields.

Or are they afraid it's a symton of something worse?

We could probably just rename the entire minor league system "general soreness" at this point.

He left in the middle of an at bat with multiple wild pitches. Knowing the DSL he probably got all bruised by repeatedly diving out of the way of pitches.

But I do like Flores a lot as well. I like his swing and think he'll add some decent power.

Speaking of dingers, Jarran Duran just hit his first pro home run.

Buttrey’s scoreless streak comes to an end after Williams Jerez lets his inherited runner score on a two run shot. Still a strong showing by Ty, though. 2 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 2 Ks.

Pawsox-Portland-Salem, don't have a victory since Monday.
Looks like they're gonna wait til Saturday
Salem wins on a Dalbec homer. Salem no longer a part of the winless streak

Pawsox-Portland-Salem, don't have a victory since Monday. Looks like they're gonna wait til Saturday Yeah I shudder to total the won/loss for the past three days...even forgetting the prior sad cumulative records. Of course the minors are for development but at some point records are a reflection of talent. Sadly, our system is mostly barren....Where will we rank with BA come January? And we don't look to have signed highly esteemed international players either for the 7/2 date. In contrast, the Yankees have a a great ML team, a great farm (1 or 2?) a payroll 40M less than us and are expected to sign a greater number of highly ranked international players. This is a bad look today and for 5 year tomorrows.

Thornburg got into the PawSox game as planned. 1 inning 8 pitches 4 strikes all zeroes. 1 GO 2 FO. I believe decision day is tomorrow (Sunday).
