I don't like making new threads for things this small, but I couldn't find an existing thread to post this. Boston Red Sox Signed: RHP Charlie Haeger (did not play in ’12), LHP Christian Perdomo (NDFA—Advanced Software Analysis (N.Y.) JC) Reinstated from DL: RHP Mathew Price The Red Sox released Charlie Haeger prior to spring training last year, but the knuckleballer is back in the fold after taking a year off. www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/2013/01/minor-league-transactions-jan-21-28/jmei edit: modified title

Google says... They are the ASA Avengers. One would think JCs would be running out of names considering "University of Maryland University College," is infact a real school.
Glad to have the organizations token knuckleballer back in the fold.

What we REALLY need is a sidearm knuckleballer. THEN you'd have something! [I'm not sure exactly what ......]

... According to his Pointstreak bio, Cotilla throws from a sidearm angle. That's not strictly true. My old physics prof would tell you that, seen from the back, the angle on a true sidearm pitch would be 0 degrees, in polar coordinates that is. Of course I may be down in the weeds here...

Sean Henn, owner of a 7.1 BB/9 in 81 innings in the majors. Wowzers.

Well, last year's attempt on capitalizing market inefficiencies by loading up on former Colorado Silver Sox, such as Buckner, Cook, Maine, Mortenson, White, etc. didn't work out too well. Perhaps this is an attempt at capitalizing a potential new market inefficiency related to guys who can't throw strikes?

ehh, it's just a lot of dreck to throw against the wall and see if you can get something to stick. Henn could eventually be made into a Loogy who might have some value and who knows who turns into the next Olmstead. I bet a lot of jokes were made about signing an interior line-man to be a A-ball closer too.

According to Jerry Crasnick the Sox signed left hander Ryan Rowland-Smith.
