Time goes by so quickly, Chavis is back on the field. I hope he gets off to a great start and never looks back!
What are the chances Pomeranz can pitch like he did last year? You never know, he could be the guy that makes a deadline deal not so important, he could be the deadline deal.

DSL Red Sox2 pitchers have a no-hitter through six innings. They are losing 1-0.

Danny Diaz was removed from the DSL Red Sox2 game to start the 7th inning. He had flied out in the bottom of the 6th.

Angel Maita now has an 11-game hit streak with 9 multi-hit games included in that streak.
Coming into today, Maita led the entire DSL in hits.

Pomeranz after watching Price last night: HOLD MY BEER! ADD: Do you know where his velocity is averaging? The Sox could really use 2017 Pomeranz right about now.

Pomeranz final 2.2 IP 4H 5R 5ER 2BB 2K 4HRA 56P/34BB Obviously ready Getting close to Thornburg....maybe one-two starts away....These two guys will likely save our season, so fear not. But even if they falter, we have Haley and Beeks in the wings. We are pretty stacked...No need to trade using our prospect larder..

You have got to wonder if the Sox trade Pomeranz for salary relief alone to free up space under the luxury tax threshold to go get a reliever.

It's more likely that Pomeranz is better than anyone they could trade for to help the bullpen.

Houck gives up four runs on four hits and five walks in 4.2 innings, whiffing nine to match a career-best (three WP, though). Regarding his slider, my counterpart in the Down East Wood Ducks broadcast booth said: "Looks like a righty Sale."

You have got to wonder if the Sox trade Pomeranz for salary relief alone to free up space under the luxury tax threshold to go get a reliever. Nobody's going to let you anywhere near their investment portfolio. The buy high, sell low meme is a loser.
