Hypothetical question: if Devers was sent to Pawtucket for a while, does he get relisted as a prospect? I ask in part because as bad as it seems that Chavis is the first Sox prospect in the top -100 in the 90s, this is in no small part because Devers and even Beni arrived so quickly.
I’m not advocating demoting Devers. I think he’s been fine.

Josh Tobias is in Florida rehabbing with the GCL team. Went 1-2 with a walk as the DH today.
Also in the GCL, the converted position players are doing well in their SSSS rookie level pitching. Eddy Reynoso is down to a 0.79 ERA in 11.1 innings. Haven’t seen any sort of report on what he looks like as a pitcher, so I make no judgement. And Yoan Aybar (3.03 ERA) has struck out 16 batters in 16.1 innings with a GB% over 50%.

That just cleared something up for me...my son went to the Sea Dogs kids clinic this morning and I was looking at the roster of which players were out there so I could pull the right cards out of his Sea Dogs team set for the autograph session after and #24 did not look anything like Josh Tobias...just checked and it looks like Deiner Lopez must have nabbed #24 in the interim. Fun watching these guys interact with the kids...Dedgar Jimenez declared himself to be "a beautiful man" when inspecting his card before signing for my son....I had assumed he was a hitting coach at the start of the clinic seeing him from across the field.

Frank Wren spotted at KC/Minn game last night. A 2nd baseman maybe? Package deal for a 50 year old reliever & Dozier? Whit or Mous? Just due diligence?

Dave's more Lannister than Ironborn -- let everyone else pay the iron price. He's got (or used to have) plenty of gold.

Not that it means anything, see Shawaryn a few days ago. If he was traded it better be Whit Merrifield.

Dozier in the starting lineup for the Twins. Merrifield in the lineup for the Royals.

Note that Mata is at 71 innings and threw 77 last year. He could easily be getting skipped.

Mata pitched 77 innings last year and he’s already at 71 this year. I’m gonna think it’s just a skipped turn in the rotation until I hear ortherwise.

Anyone who gets scratched for any reason in July should hug all his teammates just to mess with everyone.

~ ^^ What fun is logic in a gameday thread? ^^ ~
I'll just assume we dealt Mata for Bud Norris and Dexter Fowler and freak out until I am told otherwise.

I was supposed to be in Salem this weekend, but I had to cancel my trip thanks to my cat having the worst timing ever in needing abdominal surgery. But I have to admit that if I had arranged that trip and Mata got scratched for a guy I've shot in Portland over multiple years I would have been unhappy.

MLB pros Phillips & Lind both off to terrible starts.
Still no Chavis. I think that's known as the big bang theory.
Aforementioned Ryan Fitzgerald has raised his slash to .296/.358/.469/.827

Phillips has only had like 40 total at bats after not playing all year, he’s still probably getting his timing back. He hasn’t really been THAT bad in Pawtucket, has he?
Lind has been bad, no argument here

Phillips is a 37 year old veteran who said he was working out. He's had 48 ABs between Lowell (22) and Pawtucket (26). Not a lot and definitely not time to give up. He's slashing .192/.276/.269/.545 with 3BBs to 5Ks.
He's 2 for his last 16.
