78 pitches through 6 with a line of 6 4 1 0 0 8
It's nice when a 1st round pick shows flashes of being a 1st round pick.

Houck done after those six dominant innings (unearned run after he made a throwing error). He's got it working now.
Also, Joan Martinez just hit 98.8 MPH with his FB.

Martinez looked really good while striking out the side. His stuff is ridiculous. The fastball was good but I was impresssed with the slider and splitter too.

And Martinez sounds like someone to keep an eye on. He's ranked #41 here which is pretty high for a bullpen guy that far away.

It should go without saying, but I welcome any feedback you all might have on my broadcasts. I'm always trying to improve.

In a small sample so far, this year's draftees Ryan Fernandez and Yusniel Padron-Artilles (I'm not sure I'll ever remember his name) have pitches well for the GCL, lots of K's and limiting damage. Something to keep an eye out for anyway. Hopefully, we'll get a better scouting report from instructs.

"Goodnight Jim, wherever you are." Was that for me? haha That's actually an homage to my summer camp, where I first got on the air at age 11. We had a small FM pirate radio station, with its original equipment donated by a former camper named (of course) Jim. As part of our evening signoff, we would always close with "...and good night, Jim, wherever you are." It's really the only bit of schlock I allow myself, because it's a tribute to where I came from.

I watched the broadcast of Feltman pitching the ninth inning just now. First thing that stands out is that he almost does the Kimbrel arm hang. He’s more side to side in his squat and the arm is closer to his body, but it is very similar. He struck out three in the inning, all swinging but let up an earned run. Let up a big triple that almost left the park in left center when he left a pitch up. Probably should have been a double but Suarez played the ball poorly off the wall. The RBI double was a grounder that got by the third baseman. Hard hit, but could have been playable. The earned run brings his ERA up to 3.60 but he’s striking people out at a ridiculous pace.

The stuff is there, there's no doubting what he brings to the mound. There's still the matter of consistency, not letting up. Let's not forget he was throwing to college bats just a short while ago. This is different, with considerably more talent, and even more as he moves up the ladder. Patience...
