Looking forward to watching Nola, but the team may not be! Really good young pitcher. If New Orleans ever gets an ML franchise, this guy would be at the top of their list.

Not the most favorable pitching matchups. I feel ok about Price, but Pomeranz needs to show something here.

This series should be a good challenge with Nola on the hill tonight and then us throwing Pomeranz tomorrow. I'd be ok with a split although this team has proven me wrong many times.

A split would be monumental, terrible pitching matchups.

I'd be thrilled with a split in this series. I think this one could cause trouble given the pitching matchups.
Maybe the Sox should take a page out of Tampa's book.
Start lefty Pomeranz for inning (and hold your breath), then switch to righty Velazquez for the 2nd inning before turning it over to lefty Johnson in the 4th inning.
Truthfully, though, the idea of Pomeranz facing the top of the order doesn't give me warm feelings, but they appear determined to start him.

A split would be monumental, terrible pitching matchups. Yeah, offense needs to come to party as Eck would say.

Arrieta has a decent ERA but he's been shaky if you look any deeper than that. So ideally that game ends up as a 12-9 win where Pom loses his spot for good.
I mean, IDEALLY, Pomeranz would rebound and be great down the stretch, but...

Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like the Sox have done pretty well so far this year when there have been "Doomsday" match-ups which on paper look like a sure loss.

His upside is too high to give up on him and this is a year where off-speed stuff is playing up.

Go Jackie indeed. They're not trading him this season. Get over it. Their showcasing him. Batted him 5th yesterday & 6th today. That's very delusional. How about this. If I'm right you change your avatar to JBJ and if I'm wrong.......well in this one case I won't be.

JBJ is not going anywhere. Is saving a run a game more important than knocking in a run a game? I think it is. They have a great defensive outfield. Leave it alone.
On the other hand, I'm dreaming of Scooter G. I think he could be got with a combination of Dalbec, Chavis, and Buttery. I would take that in a heartbeat.
Right now DD is up to something. Hold your breath.

Interesting matchup as Kapler was frequently mentioned, at least on this board, as a good choice for manager.

Looking forward to seeing Nola. He seems like a guy that's worth the hype, but he's a NL starter, which gets me skeptical usually because of the free outs given to them.
Price should be well rested. One inning pitched in like 2 weeks (that didn't count lol).

No Swihart today...come on AC !! Yeah with Brian Johnson in the bullpen for now, Swihart loses yet another guy to catch personally. Now he might catch maybe once a week. Cora loves Sandy's game calling ability.
