Eh. Blah blah blah. Let the games be played and see what happens.
My biggest concern is that the Sox injuries may be reaching a tipping point where it really starts hampering them. Do we really like the starting pitching matchups this weekend?

Eh. Blah blah blah. Let the games be played and see what happens. My biggest concern is that the Sox injuries may be reaching a tipping point where it really starts hampering them. Do we really like the starting pitching matchups this weekend? Umm, the Yankees are playing without two impact batters. The Sox injury woes pale in comparison. For me, I like the pitching matchups in 3 of the 4 games. 1> Say what you will about velocity but in his 6 starts, Johnson has the lowest starter ERA on the staff at 1.80. CC is good but he's also old and is clearly in in-season decline mode. He's been getting hammered recently. 2> Porcello has been consistently decent. He's not as good as Severino but Severino has been hammered so bad recently that people are questioning his health. 3> My opinion only, Eovaldi is a considerably better pitcher than Happ who has also struggled except his last start against the Oriles. 4> Whether or not Price is good, Tanaka has been on a roll and he's a very good pitcher.

We might be without Bogaerts for the first 1-2 gamess, have no Devers Erod or Sale. I wouldn’t say our injuries pale in comparison.

Hopefully the Sox will be disinfecting the visitor locker room. From the CDC:
You can get exposed to the viruses that cause hand, foot, and mouth disease through:
Close personal contact, such as hugging an infected person
The air when an infected person coughs or sneezes
Contact with contaminated objects and surfaces, like touching a doorknob that has viruses on it, then touching your eyes, mouth, or nose before washing your hands

The Sox have a better bench and replacements so, in the long term they do. Syndergaard will be on the DL for quite a while, how long before Happ ? Don't forget, Ellsbury and Frazier are also on the DL. That forces the Yankees to use Gardner and Stanton in the outfield which in turn means Walker or another batting hole is the likely DH. Romine is probably not that much of a downgrade from Sanchez (defense) but the backup catcher is AAA quality. Sale is one start and we have Johnson Devers has Nunez ERod Eovaldi Bogaerts, indirectly Kinsler Yu also forgot CVaz and we have Swihart. Injurywise I'd much rather be in the Sox position than the Yankees.

Syndergaard barely missed any time, and pitched a quality start last night. Did you mean Judge?

I was thinking about Happ's hand, foot and mouth disease. That's what Thor had. Ah, I wasn't sure about the connection. My bad. To me, it's strange. I'm guessing it's happened before but I hadn't heard of a baseball player for it and now 2 within a couple of weeks.

This team wins so freaking much that it's actually very depressing when they lose because it's such shock. Losses are so far and few between it's foreign, unfamiliar and strange. They win so often that every time they lose it's like "WTF is that!" "what's happening" Right? They're so good that even losing Drew Pomeranz vs. Jake Arrieta feels surprising. Well, this just makes me look ridiculous. Yeah, not a surprising loss at all and if anything it felt like we loss by way more than 2 runs. My feeling in this post was more of a blanket statement for the season as a whole than it pertaining to one particular game.

It’s strange but there is a hand foot and mouth disease outbreak of sorts in the US so in that sense it’s not so strange.
