i don't care if he holds them to 2 runs. 10 baserunners in less than 5 innings. In his prior 5 starts to this, 45!! baserunners in 21 innings. Do we have to keep playing this game? this is not a sustainable way to pitch.

He had them all the way! At least he gave 5 innings only 2 runs. The Sox need the offense to get runners in.

The thing is, given the fragility of pitching arms, it is conceivable that we are witnessing the last of Pomeranz as even a minimally acceptable major league pitcher.

If we lose this game, it won't be ENTIRELY Pomeranz's fault.

Swihart....."say hello, to my little friend" Much respect for deftly working a “Scarface” reference into a baseball discussion. I wish I knew a way to relevantly bring up “ You can’t do nothing to me that Castro has not already done.”

0 for 10 with runners in scouring position and one runner thrown out at home to end and inning.
If they hit like this against the Yankees they are in big trouble.

Three innings to get that one run (well, two for the win) - just need our bullpen to hold.
Love the way our line up seems to find itself if it gets baffled the first few times through.
We can do this!

Since they haven't brought in Johnson which would line him up for the 4th game against the Yankees, I'm wondering if they will keep the extra day for the staff and use Johnson in game 1.

Didn't even work the count vs. Arrieta to get him out of the game after that inning....
My god.

Blakes improvement in blocking pitches is incredible. There really has only been one time in the last 3 games I watched him catch that he used poor form. He used to stink at it. He must have really been working his butt off to get better.
