This is how it should be. Although I might wish for a best of seven. The NYYankees have less questions with respect to health than do the Red Sox, but the Sox have a slightly better offense and team speed. Slight edge to the Sox with defense. But as with all post season contests pitching is the answer. Edge to the Yankees bullpen. On paper it comes down to what Sale has left in the tank and can Price overcome his post season past. If yes to both, the Sox in 3 or 4, if no to both Yankees in 5 (as much as I hate to say this). Time for an unsung hero to step up.... Wright? Eovaldi? Kelly? (cough) Kimbrel? It is in the hands of the baseball Gods. So be it. Let the games begin.

I hope the Red Sox pitching realizes that the Yankees hit David Price hard because they only swing when he pitches middle out and middle up! Look at the hitting charts for his games against the Yankees versus other teams. The Yankees are eliminating the bottom half of the strike zone and the inside half of the strike zone! When will the advanced scouts, pitching coach, catchers, or David Price himself going to realize this?

It's not easy for LHP to throw inside to RHB though, because when you miss, it's either right down the middle or it hits the guy. And when the Yankees get every borderline call, it's even more difficult. However, in Fenway, it's not a huge issue because those 350 foot HRs turn into cans of corn for Mookie to catch.

I'm not unhappy. We'll be ready or we didn't deserve it anyways. I agree( especially if Chris Sale is Chris Sale). Sox play ther best & the NYY play ther the best? The Sox will win as their the better TEAM. Though, i think if the Astros get past the Indians i think they win the WS again. I just want the Sox in the ALCS and lets see what happens.

Getting the Yankees and Astros is probably the toughest path to the WS in recent memory. Except for the Yankees getting the Red Sox and Astros.

The sounds of horsehide meeting ash (or maple), horsehide smacking leather. The sight of furrowed brows, eyeblack, determination. Think of yourself on the town green, the 4th of July and being 10 years old. The cathedral is the town green, the altar is in the shape of a diamond. The Gods are knodding in approval.
