Wade Miley is pitching game 3 for the Brewers. He had a 2.57 ERA in 16 starts this year. The NL is like the minor leagues for pitchers. No one could possibly convince me that Miley's ERA wouldn't be double in the AL East if he pitched exactly the same way he did this year. This is why I get skeptical whenever someone brings up Shaw's stats. He still would be better than Nunez or Devers at the moment, but I don't think he's 30 homerun good in the AL East.

The NL beat the AL in interleague this year, and the NL Central is not a bad division at all. (Also, he's a lefty hitter who pulls the ball a ton so he'd be a threat for 50 if he played for the Yankees.)

I think you need some sleep or something. Shaw has nothing to do with the NL being the minor league for pitchers or Wade Miley. It's easier to pitch in the NL, not easier to hit.

I still miss Travis Shaw, that was such an idiotic trade.

Yeah two of the best best ballparks to hit in baseball are in the NL in Colorado and Arizona. The difference in talent from the NL and AL is still pretty wide imo. The NL doesn't have the depth in talent in terms of pitching when compared to the Astros, Yankees, Indians, Red Sox, Ray's for example. Sure you have a couple of crappy teams who can't pitch in the AL, but the I see a sizable gap there. The Rays could have taken the NL central if they played in that division and they didn't even make the AL playoffs.

I bet the Braves have the goal to score at least one run in the playoffs tonight.
Another interesting scenario. Brewers scored on a balk and a wild pitch in the same inning. And the pitcher still ended up with 3 K's. Bet that's the first time that happened in the playoffs. Brewers about to sweep the Rockies.

FWIW, Foltynewicz is in a better position than Ryu to come back in game 4 on short rest I sometimes can't tell when you're kidding. Announced starters in game 4 Monday are: Foltynewicz & Rich Hill for better or for worse

The Golden State Astros might go 11-0.

The Golden State Astros might go 11-0. The only thing you should fear is fear itself.

Someone in the Sox / Yankee thread bemoaned "no baseball until Saturday." But of course the NLCS begins on Friday, and it's half of a terrific post-season.
The two best teams in both leagues have advanced to fight for the pennant. That doesn't happen often.
In both cases, the team with significantly better underlying stats is taking on a team with much better karma (who deservedly has home field as a result). If you go by raw numbers, the Dodgers were actually a better team than the Red Sox, but there was a huge karma gap, obviously.
I have to mess with my spreadsheet to fix the talent / schedule / karma breakdown of wins ...
