Not sure where to put this, but this was an interesting article on the flyball revolution. It talks about how it's catching on. Start with Marlon Byrd who spread it to Justin Turner and Daniel Murphy and the Dodgers organization including Tim Hyers who was introduced to a hitting guru who spent time with Mookie Betts and impacted Mookie, along with the help of JD Martinez, and they're spreading it to Bobby Dalbec. It's a lot more interesting and succinct than I make it sound here. Definitely worth a read. Here it is: slate.com/culture/2019/06/mvp-machine-excerpt-mookie-betts-better-swing.html?utm_source=pocket-newtab

I have a question: How does Mike Minor have a significantly higher bWAR than Justin Verlander?
In what universe....

I have a question: How does Mike Minor have a significantly higher bWAR than Justin Verlander? In what universe.... Well, I hate bWAR for pitchers (actually I hate all WAR for pitchers), but in this case, b-ref takes credit away from Verlander because Houston has a much better overall defense than Texas and vice versa for Minor.

If it is meant to suggest all things being equal Minor is having a better year, it is absurd.

I don't watch a ton of college ball, and I didn't have the Vandy-Duke game on until the 6th and the internet was lighting up about it. But holy Kumar Rocker. What a beast.

I have been to several minor league parks where the railroad rolls by in the outfield. I've yet to be at one when tanks are being freighted in, however.

Casey Mize with eight shutout innings on Sunday. He now has made 10 starts this year, and has given up zero earned runs in seven of them.

the last thing the Astros needed is to add a guy who was destroying AAA with the most homers and a 175 wRC+
and hes 21 and can do this to the opposite field....sigh. That lineup fully healthy will be a nightmare

Speaking of the juiced ball, how can anyone explain another reason for the Twins going from a team .155 ISO in 2018 to a .241 ISO in 2019 with most of the same players?
That would smash the team record of .206 by the Blue Jays in 2010. I'm so tired of home run derbies replacing baseball games.

The Yankees acquired Edwin Encarnacion.
He's been a pain for the Sox in the past.

So.... is Judge or Stanton out for the year??? I think Stanton's hit 4 HR's in four three rehab games. I believe Judge is going on rehab as well.
