They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

I sincerely hope that the team was sufficiently embarrassed by their showing so far that they get the ship turned around quickly. The mental errors have to stop, that's for sure.

We casual fans are confused by it all.
I Guess Eovaldi can't start the home opener.

That's a pathetic rotation they're facing, the offense needs to pick it up.

Company I work with provided us with tickets for tonight so I'll be in the house. Hopefully the Sox offense decides to show up as well.

And so - the top of the line up flip flops again - Benni leading off, Mookie second. A few thoughts - Cora is liking what he is seeing with each of them with their bats and is moving back to his original pre-season plan, or Cora is making a change to shake the team up a bit...trying to get this team motivated again and off of their apathetic start.
It was interesting hearing Cora get beat up just a tad today on WEEI - was listening to just a bit of the mid afternoon show (I know...just radio talking heads - but was still a big change from last year).
I think a big, positive showing the next set of games in Arizona is pretty important for them to have.

Saltalamacchia in the booth tonight. He got a fairly atrocious looking man-bun. (I can’t help it, the 53 yo guy in me just can’t buy into that as a real hairstyle for men.)

Swihart’s left handed swing can be really pretty sometimes.

Nice throw by Swihart. He limits the damage to just one run. That’ll make a pitcher love you.
