Hahaha! I woke up this morning and checked the MiLB box scores and said to myself "I think we'll have a Duran Duran reference pretty soon" and here we are! Love you Joel!

Their names make it look like Dedgar Jimenez stole that D from Harol Gonzalez.

I guess Jarren is melting under the pressure of being the SP headline. 1/4 with a SB but 3 K's swinging so far.

Kervin Suarez has a couple doubles tonight and is off to a pretty good start. He had a relatively aggressive placement in Greenville last year as a 19-year old (he essentially skipped Lowell), and he was decent, though with a lot of K's, until fading badly down the stretch. He's very athletic, and he looks like he's bigger than the 165 he's listed at. This is his third start in four games at second base, and if he can play then he has some potential as a utility guy.
Next-morning edit: It appears the official scorer changed one of his doubles to a triple. Even better!

The fact, though, that he moved back to 2B apparently in deference to Cole Brannen is a bit of a negative for me though. We'll see if he starts getting more run out in CF if Brannen doesn't pull out of (yet another) awful start. If he doesn't that'll speak volumes.

I hear that, though I think they're still trying to give Brannen reps, and his only path is as a center fielder. And as bad as he's been at hitting the ball (career SLG is .218, which is kind of unthinkable), Brannen's 34 for 38 as a base stealer, and already has three swipes this year even though he's only been on base five times. Suarez isn't such a big prospect that they're going to just pull their plug on a guy they spent $1.3 million on less than two years ago, sunk as that cost probably already is.

I feel bad for Brannen. Hard to watch a kid struggle so mightily.
