When Michael Chavis hits a home run, he hits bombs. The day after hitting a 470 foot homer, he hits a 467 footer.

I feel bad when I see Rusney in the box scores. He'll always be remembered as a bust, but seems like he could provide some value to an MLB team.
Also, the Portland box score link just links back to this thread.

Travis Lakins has been very good to start the season, in a tiny sample size of 5 IP he struck out 8 while walking just 1 and 3 GB outs for every air out! He'll be needed in the majors at a certain point and it's nice seeing him pitching like that.

Starting to think he wasn't 100% Tough day today for Schellenger and Aybar, who are two of the more exciting relief arms. Schellenger's control has been a challenge so far - eight walks/one HBP in 2 1/3 in four outings.

Also, the Portland box score link just links back to this thread. He’s not a bust because of a lack of performance on the field. Sox administration made him a non-factor by tendering him a contract it could not afford.

They can afford it just fine, they just don't want to pay the luxury tax on it... (I know that's what you meant, I just feel like I would be remiss if I didn't point it out.)

Also, the Portland box score link just links back to this thread. He’s not a bust because of a lack of performance on the field. Sox administration made him a non-factor by tendering him a contract it could not afford. Sure it is. They tried to hand him the starting LF job in 2016. He responded with a sub-.500 OPS during ST and looked so bad they decided to enter the year with Holt as the starting left fielder. He got 80 games of run in 2015 and had a wrc+ of just 73. Is his contract keeping in the minors now? Sure. Has he had multiple opportunities in the past to show he'd be worth the money and failed to do so? Absolutely. It's nice that he's hit .310 in consecutive AAA seasons, but last year it was a pretty empty average with a high BABIP. There's a reason projection systems still think he'd be a below average MLB hitter. His situation isn't great, but let's stop acting like the guy is a political prisoner or something.
