Getting rid of Swihart in favor of Nunez and Leon is gonna pay off in a big way... for the rest of the AL East

well at least it took less than a full game for the Leon narrative to go up in flames Think that was the pink hat crowd on FB. Dont remember that narrative here. casual fans, yea...but also the Boston media was ready to eat up that narrative should Sale have pitched well tonight.

I’m not happy Chris Sale has already given up four runs but it does make Dombrowski’s comment about how “We want Leon to handle the pitching staff. He does it really well” seem pretty goofy. I’m just some doofus sitting on my couch, but I coulda told you Blake Swihart isn’t the reason the team is bad right now.

So Chris Sale threw harder which is good, but he's getting hit hard which isn't good, so he still isn't the Chris Sale we need. Meanwhile the offense was squanderrific.
It's like the law of averages are determined to kick the Sox hard in the balls after everything went their way last year. The signals are pretty clear early that this is not going to be their year. Thankfully they took full advantage of everything last year! Can't take that away.
As far as entertainment value this year goes...find other things to do I guess - at least until they actually start playing baseball the way they're capable of.

how come the yankees injured, depleted team can still hit homers and put up a 113 wRC+ but our mostly healthy one sits towards the bottom of the league (behind even the Orioles!?) with an 83 wRC+

At least the Yankees' suckiosity so far can be attached to the fact that half their roster is on the IL. What's the Sox' excuse?

Just so freaking mad about everything the Sox have done today from the bottom on up. I’m so cranky I’d like to punch an MLB umpire in the face “just to stay in shape.”

When will this team stop paying for all that went right last year? Depressing. When the pain of losing becomes greater than the joy of winning last season.

All kidding aside, I prefer to be terrible early than mediocre. Makes the fire sale decision easier. Less likely to trade prospects to fix a mediocre team, a chance to stock up on prospects and trade contracts all while getting a better draft pick.
