There's a strong chance Hernandez get called up for today's double header.

Been reported by Alex, and Carrabis hinted at it as well. If not him, then probably Shepherd.

Marco Hernandez rehabbing at 2B tonight in Salem. Can’t ask for better weather here.
Nishioka is here in warmups and throwing. Was running earlier.

Diaz gets out of a bases loaded jam in the fifth. Has pitched pretty well so far.
Biggest take away from this game so far has been how big Mata is. He’s in the dugout and he dwarfs everyone in there.

Netting is no joke. Castellanos’s bat just went flying into the stands and caught a staff member right in the forehead. Luckily she’s ok, just an egg on her head.
On a positive note, Marco Hernandez just walked up to the Spongebob theme song.

Chris is one of the few beat writers who gives the farm any attention, but he's sometimes prone to develop binkies.
Chatham's numbers are nice but he's doing it off a completely unsustainable .415 BABIP despite just a 17% LD%. Now, part of that might be how the scorers are classifying his BIP, as his FB% of 40% is nearly doubled from last year. However, his walk rate has also doubled from last year.
It's very possible this is real improvement and he's taken a giant step forward. We'd just be advised to wait for a sample size larger than 57 plate appearances...

It is frustrating but understandable when people casually discussing a prospect playing well frame that discussion in how he should be promoted or might be able to help this year (or much sooner than is sensible). It is more frustrating and less understandable when people who are paid to write about it do so.
"Chatham is playing really well" is a noteworthy observation, "Chatham might debut this year" after 14 games makes me kind of want to scream.

^This.
Chatham is having a great year. I have no idea how he'd help the team unless Bogaerts gets hurt or the 2B depth chart somehow gets even more depleted.

FWIW 2 of his 3 hits last night were inflield grounders. Like mentioned above the walk rate and the contact numbers are very encouraging and you hope he can build on that but that's it, you can project more than that.

Yeah I don't think he'll help this year either. I think he'll probably be up next year if third base is openening up or trade bait.

Yeah I don't think he'll help this year either. I think he'll probably be up next year if third base is openening up or trade bait. I think 2b is a real possibility for Chatham next season if he continues to play well at 2b and hold his own at Pawtucket later this year. If he's at 2b at some point in 2020 then it's likely Chavis is the 1b in 2020. This is assuming that Pedroia really doesn't come back and that the Sox save money and let go of Moreland, Pearce, and Holt (and Nunez). Lin probably factors in at 2b possibly, although he's probably a utility man, which of course, is what Chatham might wind up being, too, but he still has a shot at being a regular.

I don't know about making an MLB debut, Chatham is 24 and still in AA. If he doesn't get promoted this year, there's a problem.
