He’ll be 25 in June. Late comer to the organization. Good offensive stats.
Can’t see him pushing Chatham off SS in Portland , though. Second base may be his future.

No reason to keep either of them down. Miller (SS) & Tobias (2B) in AAA are both non factors & if Lin was to be sent back down he should be playing a utility role 2B, SS, 3B, CF

Time for our yearly "one successful month does not mean a player needs to be promoted" chat. Guys need to go around a league multiple times, have pitchers/teams adjust to them, then adjust to the adjustments. For example, I saw Fitzgerald have an 11-game hit streak end on Saturday's second game when he struck out twice and grounded right into a shift 3 times. I'm not sure if other teams are employing the shift Frederick was using, and it's possible the dude just had a bad game, but if all it takes is a shift to stop him right now, he needs to learn how to adjust to that. That's a prime example of what I mean with the adjustments game. For what it's worth, he did look good and caught one scout's eye along with Duran, but there was a sizeable gap between Duran and Fitzgerald for me, and neither looked like they needed to be promoted immediately. When we jump right to "he needs to be promoted" whenever a guy has a little bit of success, it brings down the level of discussion here and makes it matter less when it IS time to have that discussion. Let's try not to jump the gun on these guys. Excitement is good. Being completely unreasonable, not so much.

For what it’s worth, the Potomac Nationals did not use the shift against Fitzgerald.

Why rush guys through? Give them time to develop. Craig Hansen anyone? The Juan Soto’s of the world are the exception. Guys aren’t meant to fly through three levels in a single season.

Kole Cottam is the system's best catching project, so get him to Pawtucket too then? Seriously, what jimed said.
