Ah, and I gotta give props to our newest rookie: Shawaryn with 7k in 4 innings so far. Lost cause in game 1 but he was very good. Maybe he ends up being the ‘pen arm they need. Nothing impressive with the velo but the SL is nice and he added a wrinkle by slowing it down/CB (idk if they’re different grips or variations). Encouraging tho to have a potentially solid long man. I'd rather he get starts over Weber until Eovaldi is back.

Nearing the middle of June, I would be happy to see either Darwinzon or Mike start the Tuesday game. At this point (Wright, Johnson, Velasquez, Weber, Smith, trade deadline) it’s not a bad idea to learn if either (or both) have the potential to succeed as starters in MLB. They already have shown real promise as MLB relievers, as well as MiLB starters. Maybe AC will hope for extended innings from both of them. Their success would make the Rotation and Pen stronger and deeper going forward. If either one needs more time in AAA, and why, that would also be good to know.
IMO, circumstances make this a good time to continue integrating the talented kids like Chavis, Marco, Ockimey, Darwinzon, Shawaryn, Lakins.

Snell is hard to hit, he doesn't walk many batters, and he strikes out a lot of batters.
You literally need some luck to get a base hit or two and go deep at some point. Hopefully the Sox can find a miracle homerun from someone today. You're not going to string together many rallies against Snell.

The results never matches the stuff and peripherals. E-Rod will never escaped the 5th starter moniker He is probably more of a 4 than 5, but i have wondered the same thing. I don't know anything about pitching mechanics, but i have always wondered whether his delivery is too vanilla or something. Let go XANDER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just noticed Wright and Thornburg are joining Johnson on rehab assignments in Pawtucket. Some needed arms are healing.

3 different guys were totally fooled by The Deuce. That says something about how nasty it was following the heat. Too bad, but a lot of pitches.
Xander needed to do something with pitch 6, best chance.

I wonder if we squander a small village for the 900th time this season.

I retract my defense of this lineup. Batting Michael "2016 Yoan Moncada" Chavis 4th and Eduardo "I am a terrible baseball player" Nunez 5th is gonna make it damn hard to put a rally together.

i gotta disagree, that doesn't fit a typical squander profile. That was some friggin filthy stuff right there.

The Sox are incapable of beating teams above .500

i gotta disagree, that doesn't fit a typical squander profile. That was some friggin filthy stuff right there. A squander is a squander is a squander - 2 and 3rd with no outs followed by 3 Ks is a friggin spectacular squander... And...looks like we are getting bad ERod today, which is bad news.

Have to laugh - Cora says that to beat Snell they have to be disciplined. Then puts Nunez in the line up, who makes Manny Sanguillen and Tony Pena look like disciplined hitters! Brock Holt - now, that's disciplined. Nunez - not so much.

Well...we are talking about not making contact because the pitcher totally fooled major league hitters....like silly swings that i would take....that is different than a couple of cans of corn and whatnot. We will have to agree to disagree on this, my brother.

Nice to see Travis and JBJ doing that. Magnifies the ineptitude of Chavis and Nunez and Xander last inning. Need to shorten up the swing, make contact. Chavis was swinging from his heels. Nunez - no Fing idea what is in his head when he has a bat in his hands.
