Got to say I love the potential for prospects more than the ripening of them. I pay no attention to AAA and even AA, and occasionally check the high A. It's all Greenville (Howeltt, Cassas and Granberg) and the DSL, now with the bottom four in Lowell (Northcutt, Flores, Ecker and Jiminez).
It's Gonzalez, Brainer Feliz, Belen, Daza and Romero in the DSL.
If we can get Lopez and Vaughn going we can have a replenished system with interesting kids by year's end.
OH, I suppose we might have a pitcher somewhere to be interested in.

Kutter Crawford currently leading qualified pitchers in the Carolina league in K/9 (10.43), and K% (27.0%)
However, also has the second highest BB/9 with 4.14.

Also he’s got one of the coolest baseball names ever in the history of the universe. Separately, does anyone know how Velazquez’ start went? I see he pitched one inning, gave up a hit and had 2K’s. I’m assuming the plan was for just that one inning.

Edit: I see that he's listed at 165 lbs. on SP. 140 on MiLB.com. That's quite a spread. Guess the Sox have been feeding him well.

Santana had started long toss while Velazquez was still in the pen warming to start, so I'm sure it was the plan.

Lol, totally tongue-in-cheek. Half the joke was calling him a “man” when he’s still a kid. My guess is no matter how good he looks he won’t come stateside until next year at the earliest, and only if he repeats the DSL looking like he has this year. Jimed, I’ll say .285/.355/.400 with some gap power, 30 steals at peak, with high contact rates and a K rate of 15-18%? Heh, I have NO idea what the kid can do but he looks damn good for 16, so far. Great to see some HR power down there from guys like Gonzalez and Feliz, when HR are historically pretty rare in the DSL. That’s a solid foursome when you throw in what Prado is doing. I’ll say it again, I cant wait for this IFA period.
