Pete Abraham @peteabe · 47m #RedSox infielder Tzu-Wei Lin had a homer, two RBI and two SBs to help Taiwan beat China 10-2 in the Asian Games semifinals. They face Japan in the championship.

Figured I'd make this separate from the AFL thread. Lin's been playing well for Taiwain in the Asian Baseball Championship. He didn't play in 2 of the opening round games, blowouts against Sri Lanka and China. Went 1/4 playing SS against Korea, 3/3 with a double and a walk playing second against Korea in the rematch, 2/4 with a HR, 2 BB, and 2 SB playing left field against China to get Taiwan into the gold medal game, and the gold medal game is apparently happening now or just happened. www.baseballasia.org/BFA/include/index.php?Page=1-2-1&score01=2504967155d9a9c49dbd47

Thank god, we've finally got some news regarding players who aren't MLFAs.
1. Sam Travis will play for Caguas in Puerto Rico.
2. Matthew Lugo was the first player selected in the Puerto Rican league's draft by the expansion team from Manati, which is also where he's from.
Also Jantzen Witte, who is also a MLFA, will play for Santurce.
Good to see the league is expanding after nearly not happening last year.

Others on reserve lists (in other words, the team has their rights, whether or not they play - which, for example, Vazquez likely won't):
Santurce: Christian Vazquez, Eddie Jimenez, Joseph Monge (FA) Caguas: Alan Marrero Mayaguez: Jeremy Rivera
And I take back the expansion point, as the Aguadilla team won't be playing this year.
