No promises, but given the changes in the Fall Instructional League, we might make getting eyes on this team during the year our travel priority instead.

Great stuff as always, thanks for sharing John!
A couple of random Greenville-related thoughts:
- I'd love to see Stephen Scott get some reps at C where his bat would be more likely to play long-term. I could see him being the backup to Groshans while getting additional playing time at DH and in the OF. - I think Daniel Bakst could be a significant contributor to this team. I certainly think this is an appropriate level for him based on talent and experience. I could see him getting the lion's share of PAs at 2B if Cannon spends most of the year in Salem, or alternatively, he could be the guy at 3B if Howlett spends most or all of the year in Salem and if the club prefers him to Northcut. - The rotation should be interesting no matter what, but its really hard to predict who will be there. Groome, Murphy, and Zeferjaun could all start there but I think would be candidates to move quickly. Who knows about Song although I think the odds are against him playing next year. If he does play, he would probably start out in Salem. Aldo should be a lock for this rotation and is unlikely to advance based on his age. Finally, I'm really curious to see where Liu plays this year. Greenville seems to make sense in terms of level but they'll probably need to watch his innings carefully this year if stretched out as a starter and therefore could end up in Lowell.

I'd be very surprised if Bakst skipped Lowell given he didn't play college ball last year and didn't get a ton of GCL reps. Keep in mind he wasn't at Instructs either as he was finishing up at school.
Scott worked as a catcher at Instructs and was working with the catchers outside of games in Lowell, so I'd presume they'll get him time there.

How long do we think Groome would be at Greenville? I know he's barely pitched but as a Rule 5 eligible player after this year do we think they'll be aggressive with him?
I think the position players are interesting, but a lot of that feeling comes from hope for bounce-back/progression from guys like Decker, Howlett, etc. If someone from this roster can pop, it would really help in the planning for the next couple years but it's hard to bet on anyone being that guy right now.

Groome has to build his innings, hard to imagine him getting much past 100 this season. Maybe 50/50 with Greenville and Salem?

Yeah, I think if he gets to Salem for any length of time, stays off the IL (with real injuries, not breaks or anything) and throws 100 innings, that's a success. Put him on the 40-man next offseason, start him in Salem and move him to Portland midyear, and he's on track.
