2021 MLB Draft
|
Post by ramireja on Jun 17, 2020 11:48:55 GMT -5
Who is ready for the 2021 MLB draft? Maybe too soon, but regardless, here's a link to Kiley McDaniel's way-too-early 2021 mlb draft rankings via ESPN. I won't give away too much behind the paywall, but here's the top 10 from these rankings: 1. Kumar Rocker, RHP, Vanderbilt, 50 FV 2. Brady House, 3B, Winder Barrow HS (GA), 45+ FV 3. Jack Leiter, RHP, Vanderbilt, 45 FV 4. Jaden Hill, RHP, LSU, 45 FV 5. Jud Fabian, CF, Florida, 45 FV 6. Jordan Lawlar, SS, Jesuit Prep HS (TX), 45 FV 7. Luke Leto, SS, Portage Central HS (MI), 45 FV 8. Alex Binelas, 3B, Louisville, 45 FV 9. Adrian Del Castillo, C, Miami, 45 FV 10. Ethan Wilson, LF, South Alabama, 45 FV

Let's get this season going so we can rename this sub "Crater for Kumar".

Joshua Baez (Dexter Southfield) is a hyped local kid that will be interesting to follow. He's a Vandy commit.

Think we are going to see a banner year for NE based prospects in next year's draft. There is a ton of talent from the area, its quite remarkable. Someone mentioned Josh Baez, and we saw Harold Coll deciding to do a prep year instead of going to UNC so he can enter the draft. The college ranks has Mason Pelio SP , Sal Frelick OF, and Cody Morrisette 3B from BC. Wake Forest has Chris Lanzilli OF and Ryan Cusik SP, Maryland SP Sean Burke, Michigan SP Steve Hajjar, Virginia SP Mike Vasil, Harford SP Nick Dombrowski, plus Northeastern, Bryant, URI, UConn, and Harvard each have a handful of players likely to be top 5 round picks or so, plus another wave of of top 15 round players behind them, it's quite remarkable to me to see the talent coming out of New England in recent years compared to when I was in high school.

IF WE EACH TAKE GROUPS OF 25, SOMEONE WILL BE AN EXPERT BY NEXT JULY IN OUR INEVITABLE PICK.

Nick Lucky and Kason Howell (former draft picks) could be targets again when this draft comes up

If there is no BB this year, then does anybody know how MLB will configure the draft order in 2021? Do they simply repeat the 2020 draft order, pull names out of a hat, or what?

There is a lot of talent in New England behind this class. My son plays for a summer travel team that was ranked 17th in the country last year and has the number one ranked prospect in the country for 2023 HS grads (LHP from Rowley, MA). Look out.

Yes, Thomas White. Throws lower 90's at age 15. Super nice kid. Couldn't be happier for him and his family. Games will start in July and will carry over into the fall.

Dream scenario (will never happen) Sox start the season 0-5 and in last place mlb season gets shut down and Sox end up with Kumar and resetting the Cbt.
