They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Does anybody know why they are playing a DH today when both teams are off tomorrow? Why not play a 1:00pm game tomorrow and then both fly down to Florida to play Thursday? Is it because the Phillies have 2 DH this weekend w Miami and this gives them a little extra rest?

If they didn't have tomorrow off, they'd have been scheduled to play (worded that way b/c they got rained out last week) 33 games in 30 days without a day off. That's kind of rough even by MiLB standards.

that was extremely bad baseball. Not often can you score 3 runs on 1 hit.

Yeah, this team is not just undertalented at this point, they are very inconsistent in the field and on the bases.
If I was Eovaldi I’d have a “calf issue” too, for the rest of the year.

every time i'm starting to get on the Perez train (at least as a viable 5th starter), he'll throw a game like today out there. It sucks because his stuff is actually pretty good for a lefty, but you can't be walking 6 batters in less than 4 innings. And it's more like he nibbles way too much than having legitimately poor control like some guys.

Devers is percolating. Good to see him, Verdugo, and Bogaerts looking good as we look to '21

What a bomb by Dalbec. He is definitely an intriguing 1B/DH option moving forward.

Dalbec is on pace for what ? 80 HR ? LOL. Imagine how much better he would be if O’brien actually pronounced his name correctly, instead of being like “another home run for Bobby Daubach”.

Years from now we'll remember this comeback as the one that netted us a real pitcher. No one will remember 14-29 vs 15-28, but the draft position will live on.
