Just FYI, we used "classic" box scores to refer to the old formatting milb used for their box score pages. They switched over to the gameday boxes in 2019, but the old boxes were still accessible once you had the link format by swapping out the team, level, and league. It appears they took those all down and discontinued that formatting on Tuesday.
The gameday ones take longer to load (especially if you're on an old device) and are more buggy. But the most egregious problem with them with what I'm using them for is that there's no longer a single-page play-by-play so that you can do a quick Ctrl-F search. Now you have to click through, inning by inning. Just awful.
Jeremy Rivera is getting the start in Center Field for Portland tonight. Has played outfield twice in his career from what I can tell: 15 innings across 2 seasons of winter ball and 4 innings in right field in 2019. None of the innings came as starts in the outfield. Rosario shifts to right field for tonight. That’s an interesting defensive shift there.

Gonsalvez has pitched 4 shutout innings recording 8 of the 12 outs by strike out, but has walked 5, hit one batter, and stranded the bases loaded twice.

Thaddeus Ward gave up 3 earned runs on 6 hits in 4IP. He walked 3 but struck out 4. Would love to hear how he looked from anyone who actually saw him pitching.

Gonsalves has considerably better control than the numbers show. 100 pitches only 54 strikes.

Ward seemed... fine... watching with like 75% focus. A bunch of breaking balls swept and bounced in the LHH batters box. The Sea Dogs defense sucks so there was some questionable stuff behind him. 8 SwStrk, wasn't really dominant, his worst control blip was walking back to back guys on 10 total pitches in the 1st.
Very excited to see Ward, he's been flying totally under the radar.
Definitely agree. He needs some more work, but he could end up as a sneaky good mid rotation starter if things go well.
Another tunneling desciple.
