So this is more of a call for help than anything else, but if it turns into a productive conversation I'd be delighted. I trust the knowledge and resourcefulness of the members here so I thought this to be the place to go for information. I tried looking for an appropriate thread but with no luck I figured I would create my own. Never created a thread before so be gentle. For the life of me I can't seem to find information on how players age, peak and decline based on body type but I could have sworn I've read studies on this in the past.
Is it true, and is there a study, that provides the value a player who is short in stature provides in his later years vs. a player who has a more athletic taller frame? e.g. all things being equal would Xander Bogaerts be a better bet for a 12 year contract at age 28 over someone like Mookie Betts (feel free to interchange those names) I found tons of information on aging curves in general, but nothing that seems to break down how players age based on frame.

If you go to fangraphs.com and type "aging curves" into the search, and then click the the "search blog" button at the bottom of the pop up window you'll get lots of stuff. I don't see an easy way to give you a direct result to the search results. This one might be what you're looking for: blogs.fangraphs.com/are-player-types-aging-differently-now/In general, the better athletes are better bets long term, but it's not an enormous effect.
