Very interesting group of starters today. Of course, Bello, but watching carefully on Gambrell.

While facing former major leaguer LHP Matt Moore, Cordero worked a 7 pitches walk which remined me of this quote from Cora: Baby steps...

Duran just took Matt Moore yard for a 2-run HR and a 3-1 WooSox lead.
He's 3-for-3 tonight.

Cody Scroggins is a guy that’s going to need a promotion sooner rather than later. 0.90 ERA in 20 innings with 20 Ks to 9 walks. 24 years old and a college draftee from a big program. So far he’s completely outmatching low-A hitters.

Cape Cod’s own Will Toffey took Bello deep for the only run
Hell of a game from Bello. Very excited about him

Well I'm just blatantly scouting the stat line here, but it seems to me that Gambrell has yet to actually pitch well as a professional baseball player.

Cordero...no hits (0-2), but no strikeouts and 2 more walks....389. OPS 1.230.

Single biggest news last night was Lopez. That he earned a promotion in the first place suggests he differentiated himself, and his stat line suggests he did ok. And the million plus pedigree says he could move quickly up the lists. As I noted before, I'm a first impressions sort of guy, and seeing the initial sorting is what I live for (I barely look at AAA stats, and only check AA for Casas). Now we just need June 28th to come, so I can swoon over the FCL kids like Valdez and de la Rosa.

Stephen Gonsalves at Worcester is starting to show up on my radar screen. Career minor league WHIP of 1.12, ERA of 2.53. His last 3 starts have been very good. 16.0 IP, 11 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 22 K, 5 BB.

I'll second this. No walks last night was particularly impressive to me. Given his stuff as a lefty if he continues his recent control trend I have no doubt he'll find a way to impact a major league roster.

Noteworthy performance by Brandon Walter gainig the win for Salem over Delmarva. He's at 1.64 so far in 22 IP with 30Ks. In 2019 he was 5-2 and 2.28 all in relief. 69Ks in 55 IP. The lefty is 24 yrs old.
