Important transaction today: Boston Red Sox sent LHP Chris Sale on a rehab assignment to FCL Red Sox. Teams set to add Duran, Houck, and Sale over the next month. Talk about the cavalry

Today could be a big day for movement in the system. Duran is going up to the majors. I’m assuming the Olympics guys are leaving today given the fact that camp starts tomorrow. If not then some of the transactions move a bit.
So Worcester is losing Duran, Mieses, and Lopez. Portland is losing Casas, Meneses, Baldwin, and Reyes (Thompson already the countermove for Reyes).
Chavis could be the countermove for Duran, but with Marwin being banged up before the break do you really want to keep that 3 man bench? If so, then a pitcher would need to go. I would assume Workman or Brice gets DFA’d. Considering they need to make a 40 move anyways I’d stick with that. Worcester already has an 8 man bench so they don’t really need to make any crazy moves to make up for the 3 hitters they’re losing but one guy I’d like to see go up would be Ryan Fitzgerald. He’s 27 and hitting very well in AA. Put him in Jack Lopez’s utility role and see what he can do against AAA hitting.
Portland will definitely need reinforcements with Casas, Meneses, and Baldwin leaving and the fact that they only have a 3 man bench. Oscar Rangel has always come up for Baldwin in the past so there’s one. Tyreque Reed is the obvious countermove for Casas with a chain promotion of Joe Davis to Greenville. For the third guy, you could dream about a Cannon/Howlett/Dearden/Esplin promotion but I think they’d probably just throw Cubillan back up there.
If they did any big chains, Stephen Scott would be another guy that could go up to Greenville. The hardest part would be deciding who to move up to Salem from the FCL.

Houck up to Boston now too. But I don't think it'll be nearly as exciting as @addam603.
I agree on most of the above. Thompson could come up but they already called up Rivera, who seems to fill that role. Worcester is at 32 already anyway so in theory, they don't even need to call anyone up - they can only have 28 active on a given night anyways. Might depend on whether Chavis is coming down. Fitz has been good - and is 27... - so it would make sense if they did want to move him up.
Agree across the board with Portland. They're at 27, but Schellenger is likely close to returning. Non-zero chance Dearden, Koss, or Sogard goes up to Portland, but you're right, it could easily be Cubillan. They're just SO thin there right now. (I don't see Howlett yet - Potts needs to play and Howlett is young for High-A anyway.)

Hernandez is, in theory*, the first DSL pitcher to go 3 this year.
* - very possible they missed a pitching change. Wouldn't be the first time this year.

Quite a debut for Jedixson Paez: 3IP, 1H, 0ER, 1BB, 7K Is it just me or are Dominican names getting more interesting over time? I'd be interested in knowing more about naming conventions over there.
On another completely tangential note, I hadn't realized until I came across it the other day how economically successful the DR has been in recent years. As recently as 1990 it was almost as poor as Guatemala, with a per capita GDP of $4,500 (inflation adjusted), but by 2017 it had caught up to Costa Rica ($15,000) and wasn't too far behind Mexico ($17,000).

Is something wrong with Groome. I see he missed his last turn in the rotation.

Sale did actually pitched another inning (he must've been very economical with the pitch count) and struck out 2 more batters (1 sw, 1 lk) Add: Cepeda comes for relief to start the 4th.

I see one of the hits against Sale was a bunt single. That's kind of lame. You're in the FCL, you may never get a chance to face a pitcher like Sale again - swing away!
Then again, I guess he gets to say "I got a hit against Chris Sale" for the rest of his life...

Flip side, if the guy never makes it out of affiliated ball he can still say he went 1 for 1 against Chris Sale
