I'd be curious to see a legible version of that. Do you have a link?

I'd be curious to see a legible version of that. Do you have a link? Ok, I feel better. I thought I was the only guy who couldn't see it. I made out that (I think) the Dodgers and Yankees have the best records and the Sox are 3rd behind NY and TB. But I can't make out the record. Obviously if you go back to 2000, then the Sox are behind just NY in the AL East. Actually going back to 1901 that's the case. The Sox are the second best team overall historically in the AL, and I believe 4th (for active franchises) behind the Yankees, Giants, and Dodgers.

The Red Sox are the third-best team in the AL East since 2010... and the fifth-best in MLB. Not much doubt about which is the toughest division in baseball.
And now Baltimore has a top-rated farm system, too...

The worst team in baseball last decade still won 44% of it's games. The 4 top teams in baseball won only 2 of the World Series.
It's very much a game of parity.

Number of rings since 2010: SF - 3 BOS - 2 STL - 1 KC - 1 CHC - 1 HOU - 1* WAS - 1 LAD - 1* ATL - 1
Definitely a lot of parity but I'll take third place in the division if it still gets me 2 out of 12 rings.

One of the most extreme examples historically is the Philly/KC/Oakland A's, a franchise that historically had lost about 52% of their games and are many hundreds of games below .500, but are tied for 3rd with the Red Sox for most championships with 9. Philly had the same binge and purge method Oakland has.

Number of rings in 21st century:
BOS - 4 SF - 3 STL - 2 ARI - 1 LAA - 1 MIA - 1 CHW - 1 PHI - 1 MFY - 1 KC - 1 CHC - 1 HOU - 1* WAS - 1 LAD - 1* ATL - 1
Still a ton of parity - 15 different teams in 21 seasons. Nice to be on top, though...

Nice to be on top, though... THIS !!! I will second that, THISS!!! But I will add that the AL East having 3 of the top 5 since 2010 is a pretty impressive stat. And considering TBay is #4 with a small market budget while playing in that division against the big money bullies makes me excited for the Sox future with Chaim. Just take a look at our top prospects and all I can say is wow things look great and all they had to do is have one bad shortened covid season before rebounding. Now go get Seiya.

Thought it was interesting that the top team in each of the AL divisions failed to win a title.
Edit: That extends to the top 2 teams in each AL division

Thought it was interesting that the top team in each of the AL divisions failed to win a title. Edit: That extends to the top 2 teams in each AL division To my surprise, the NL has won 8 of the last 12, and 12 of the last 21 World Series (the Red Sox winning 2 of 4, and 4 of 9 WS for the AL speaks volumes). The Red Sox have been a more complete team in their offense, starting pitching, and bullpen in their WS years although 2018 used a lot of starters in place of the bullpen pitchers. All time the AL leads 66 WS wins to 51 for the NL.
