Got the camp roster and the only surprises to me were that Perales (per social media he actually just left the DR and went back to VZ) and Luis Guerrero aren't in camp.
Guerrero has never reported to Fort Myers that I can tell, which is a little weird. Perales... who knows at this point?

Perales only played one game in early July last year. Is it possible he had TJS, so no rush to get to the US this year?

No actually, but good question. He's posted video of himself throwing.

TL, DR: Marcello Mayer is unable to get around on minor league pitchers.

Chaim was in the radio booth at the beginning of yesterday's game to talk Trevor Story but he also mentioned that Marcelo had a rocket that quickly left a back field and word about it spread even quicker around the complex.

I'll also note that Bleis put up a video on IG yesterday of a pull side HR he hit recently. Exciting tool set.

Bleis's toolshed is exciting enough that he's ranked #6 in the system by FG and their blurb notes that there is industry support to move him up to #4.

His teammates seem overly excited by his at bat. Must be a regular occurrence or he's the next Bo Callahan.

Here’s the thing that doesn’t show up in the stats sheets but makes Yorke’s bat so special: He’s a pain in the ass for the opposing pitchers…he’ll swing at the first pitch if he likes it but he’ll take a double digit pitches at bat too.

You can check with Fangraphs and he's not really on the top of pitches / plate attempt leaderboards but as you said, his hit tool is such he can easily punish a pitcher who thinks they can sneak one by him early in the count.

Their take was interesting. They also offered an apology for criticizing his draft position, the professional thing to do in my opinion. His contact rate is so good, they feel that he's unlikely to have a very high walk rate. The bat to ball skill looks exceptional early in his career and he's confident enough that he'll go after first pitches as you noted. Add: I'll stick with the proposition that if Dalbec keeps hitting, a big if, there could be a very productive rotation between DH, first base, and third base in his future. He, Devers, and an emerging Casas would all get lots of at bats in that scenario. The guy does play a passable third base. He's surprisingly quick for his size.

Yes I’m aware of P/PA numbers and that’s why I specifically mentioned his aggressiveness early in the count: That’s what “drags” those numbers down. But that’s ok for me because he’s agressive in the strike zone…a disciplined aggressiveness if you will.

Honestly, unless there's something else going on I think that super high P/PA numbers at low A and high A would actually indicate something to be concerned about, because he's seeing hittable pitches at those levels. Passivity is not a positive.

Ronald Rosario, who was tearing up the DSL in a small sample size before injury last year, is apparently healthy again and playing.

The videos I've seen of his swing this spring training are just pretty! He's exciting.

Point #3 seems pretty relevant considering what the current pen arms have mostly looked like...

Am I the only person here who feels totally sanguine about the bullpen? It seems fine to me, with good depth. (I should admit to not having seen a single imming of preseason games, but I really don't think that should matter.)
I'm just glad we don't have to rely on a "proven closer" like Kimbrel or Jansen... those guys always seem to flame out.
