Why so negative Jonathan? I prefer to look at today as the day the Pawsox complete a 4gm sweep of the Yankees AAA affiliate on the road to open the season. When was the last time that happened?

How long must the gods make us wait for Kyle Kaminska's start?

Hassan to the PawSox DL (calf); Rowland-Smith called up from XST. Per Brendan McGair.

My guess is that this move is the precursor to a PawSox pitcher (Wright or Wilson, depending on where they slot Aceves) being promoted to BOS to replace Lackey, with Iglesias filling the open AAA spot after Monday's home opener. They could also activate Kehrt and DL Hee in addition to the aforementioned moves.

Lovely day here in Frederick ... if I were paying attention at all, I would'be been here yesterday to see Owens, but oh well.

OK, Kyle Stroup throws harder than I expected. He's sitting 94-95 consistently, reaching back for even more a few times ...

OK, Kyle Stroup throws harder than I expected. He's sitting 94-95 consistently, reaching back for even more a few times ... 5, 3, 0, 0, 1, 2 in his first start in something like 580 days. I think he's happy to be back. Only needed 53 pitches. By the way, loving that they're tracking pitches at every level now.

Yeah, I'll try to have a little more later, but he was even better than that line. Two of the hits were bloops, and the "double" he gave up was originally scored an error on Renfroe and should've stayed that way. He was overpowering hitters with his fastball, and his curve was very sharp. He also threw a third pitch that was around 86 mph or so, looked like a pretty flat change. That wasn't so impressive, the only good swings Frederick had on him all day was off of that. By the way, the fastball speeds are from Henry Owens tracking pitches, so this is a legit 94-95 ... the stadium gun in Frederick is worthless.

The difference between the quality of prospects in Salem's lineup compared to Greenville's is stark. Vinicio is the only guy that does anything for me in that lineup.

Who put the what in Hazelbaker's cherrios? Dude has come out looking like an actual corner OF.
Also think moving Almanzar is inspired. Kudos to whomever in the organization decided to give that one a try.
Anyone know how long they can keep Drew on rehab? Seems silly to bring him up before he gets the 70 or ABs he missed

If Almanzar turns into a prospect again and ends up as our starting 1B in three years I officially give up on knowing anything.

Bogaerts 3 games, 6 Ks...not liking that. A kid from Aruba who only played above the Mason/Dixon line at the end of last season when it was nice out. Probably isn't too ready to hit in this weather. Not cerned until it hits 50 degrees at least.

Not cerned until it hits 50 degrees at least. I don't think it's the weather, I think it's the pitching. He had something a 20/1 K/BB ratio in the month he spent in Portland last year too. Long term I'm not overly concerned about it, but I also think he might really struggle at times this season.
