Granberg is up to 350 AA at bats. 800 OPS last year and 950 this year. Time for Worcester?

And Binelas 2/4 with his 10th homer. Maybe the 1B in the system are moving on up?
No Mayer, again today.

Matt Lugo slugging .588 as June approaches is a pretty good candidate for biggest surprise of the season.

Had him solidly in my three down Leaving aside the obvious guys 3 up Noah Song -- will return to the mound in July, and by end of season early September will be flashing his stuff making him the Sox best SP prospect. Nathaniel Cruz -- don't know anything about him compared to Winkleman or Perales, who each have also gotten a shout out in the past year and a half, but I'll take a flier on him making the Bello leap into the top 20. Alex Binelas - his pre-draft pedigree matched his post-draft year at Milwaukee. I suspect he'll push into the top 10. Honorable mention: Nathan Hickey -- In a position of need, surely the Sox saw something in him to make his bat take him into the top 20. 3 down Downs - too many holes and struggles to be explained by his age advancement struggles. Groome -- Always tantalizing, and lefties live forever, but he is too inconsistent to be more than a dream. Lugo -- I keep hearing about his tools, and his stats were decent, but I just don't see the power or bat skills to have him break through.

Mayer was placed on the IL (one of a number of transactions in Greenville and Salem that weren't posted, also including Lucas and Tellier to XST and Cubillan back to the Dev list), and is undergoing tests on his wrist.

Keith Law had him as the pre-season dark horse for exactly the reason he's excelling.

All are hitting except Davis (although Mieses has cooled a bit from a hot start and for whatever reason hardly ever plays).

A logjam of no hopers and never wozzers, it needs to be broken up to take a deeper look at folks like Granberg. Sure, maybe another two to four weeks but some of those Wooster OFs have little chance of ever impacting the big club.

Duran should be up in Boston with JBJ serving as a late-inning defensive replacement for someone/4th OF. I mean, Jarred's got a .925 OPS ffs. I don't know what that should be adjusted for the launching pad in Worchester, but he's got more than 400 PAs in AAA. He's not learning anything new down there at this point. It's time to see what he is before the deadline.

I think Winck can at least be a twice-thru-the-order guy- a normal backend SP. If he sharpens up his slider and his command late then maybe he can be a mid-rotation guy…we don’t bank on that by any means, we just hold out a little hope.

JBJ is also the far superior fielder. In fact, I’m way more confident in Jackie creeping back to the .700 OPS mark (He brings juice to the bottom of the lineup in Fenway) than Duran being a league avg bat.
