The Pre-rafaelite period in Portland was much less exciting.

Rafaela doubles off the Maine monster in his first at bat. Drives in Hamilton, who had just stolen his 23rd bag.

Jarren Duran now 3-for-4 with a HR.

The Pre-rafaelite period in Portland was much less exciting. Remember the early season excitement over Hamilton ? No similarity. Hamilton is 24, is a 2b, and has never had double figures in home runs and the early season excitement was about a few at bats. Rafaela is 21 and has steadily improving stats and power since 2017, with excellent defense at the two most important defensive positions and a few others. He's probably not going to hit for a 900 OPS, needs to improve his approach, and comparing him to Mookie Betts is silly. But comparing him to Hamilton is also silly.

HR #4 for Mayer.
Salem was being no-hit prior to the HR.

You grossly exaggerate my drift but feel free to read whatever you want into it. Some people seem to always see what they want to see. ADD: Since comprehension seems to be an issue, I was essentially pointing out how dismal the Portland offense has been.

It's a shame his bat hasn't developed but I still like him as at the very least a Quintin Berry type. With the new fangled pitcher usage, there's less room for the Berries of the world. You don't need Ham on the 26-man roster, just the 40-man. Pitching usage in the post-season has also changed but your bullpen actually becomes much shorter than normal, with rover types eating relief innings (recall 2018).
Still, as long as you have 40-man control over him (which you do for 3 years of options), you stash him in Worcester and unwrap him in the pennant run.
And who knows? Maybe he improves his skills over those three years to the point that he can earn the Arroyo role on the 26-man roster after his options are gone.

Binelas and lugo have been in a prolonged slump!
Really thought they would be doing better this year.

Binelas and lugo have been in a prolonged slump! Really thought they would be doing better this year. Lugo is hitting .281 in 200 ABs. I wouldn’t say he’s been a disappointment by an means. We’re stacked at SS at every level

Back in 2019 I saw Salem at Wilmington in the postseason; Casas and Esplin had recently been called up from Greenville and both still had Greenville helmets with their Salem uniforms. Glad to catch Esplin with Portland today, but... seriously?! (Also on that 2019 trip I saw Tyler Hill, who was playing for Wilmington--he was happy to see me when I arrived for my first game and later got the game-winning hit. Haven't seen him in person since, until today, so I was not surprised by what happened.)

Binelas and lugo have been in a prolonged slump! Really thought they would be doing better this year. You thought Lugo would have an OPS higher than .860? He’s already broken his career high in triples and homers lol

Binelas and lugo have been in a prolonged slump! Really thought they would be doing better this year. Lugo is hitting .211/.286/.500 with 4 doubles, 2 triples, and a homer making up the majority of his 8 hits in June. He's also only struck out 14% of the time during that span. He's certainly not lighting it up but he's also definitely not slumping by any means, more than likely just a bit unlucky. Given that his K rate has been relatively consistent all year, I'd say you're probably overreacting to what was a lucky (from a BABIP standpoint) beginning to the year, and now he's normalizing at a very respectable level for his age in that league.

I hope that I’m wrong, but I just can’t believe in Lugo’s line yet.
