Wanted Malcolm Moore but he’s almost definitely Stanford bound.
Brannon sounds fun provided he can be signed.

If Brannon gets a hefty bonus, then I think Coffey has to be underslot to make it all work.

This feels... unlikely... given the $2.5m they apparently agreed to earlier.

Villaman and Choate going B2B sort of makes me feel good about myself tbh.

So Coffey insurance? They allocate 2.3 for Coffee, if he says no, the lose the 1.8 slot value and can waive the 500K difference in front of him to see if he's interested

Basically all the players that either Kiley McDaniel or BA had linked in their mocks as interest after the first round have been picked by the Red Sox. For that reason I definitely have my eyes on Eric Snow and Henry Godbout tomorrow to start day 3.

400k for the 5% overage you're allowed on the pool Prob in the range of 500k-800k Day 2 savings ?? savings for Romero. Doesn't seem like he should be an extreme underslot guy

At 309, the Red Sox select Isaac Coffey, P, Oral Roberts U.

It would have seemed most likely to be insurance for Anthony just based on the arithmetic, but they've already announced that signing.

Can't wait for the confusion that that pick will cause moving forward.

Semi-uninformed attempt at guessing: Day 1 bonus pool with 5% overage is $8,482,215 BonusesRomero: $ 2.1m (slot $2.9m) Anthony: $ 2.5m (slot $820k) Rogers: $ 450k (slot $617k) Meidroth (Sr): $ 125k (slot $461k) Dean: $ 344k (slot $344k) Hoppe (Sr): $ 75k (slot $266k) Bolden (Sr): $ 75k (slot $209k) Brand (Sr): $ 75k (slot $173k) Isaac Coffey: $ 150k (slot (150k) That would leave $2,588,215 for Cutter Coffey and Brannon. If Coffey takes slot ($1.9m) that leaves $683k to throw at Brannon. Not sure that's enough to sign him, so unless Coffey is significantly underslot, Brannon might be insurance in case one of their top guys doesn't sign

You can put me in the camp that loves Texas' draft - and that was before THEY nabbed Luis Ramirez out of Long Beach State in the 7th. Yes, he skipped several starts this season (and I guess health is the key to their entire return), but when healthy I like him better than Drew Thorpe. IMO, if he returns to form, he is the class arm out of the Big West (which, despite what was said on the draft broadcast last night IS high level baseball)... I was high on Thorpe. When someone who knows what they're talking about says "best command in the draft," it gets my attention.

Uh oh, yall don't want to turn on Felger & Mazz right now... A statement that applies to me 24/7.
Gosh, let me guess: they're panning the Sox draft because they've never heard of any of the picks...

Mason McRae on Jonathan Brand: Had him ranked 202 Glute dominance is the new market inefficiency I'm waiting for the acronym or the letters used to identify and the numbers used to quantify "glute dominance" as a new stat.
