Lyonell James with one of the more impressive OBP > SLG lines so far in the FCL (SSS) with .383/.513/.500 before today's 1/3 with a single and a walk.

Not sure if it’s a team-wide directive this week, but all three starters that I’ve seen this week for Salem have been almost entirely fastball-changeup. Haven’t seen a lot of breaking balls.

Chris, do you know why Mieses is not more highly regarded? Is he a poor fielder or have huge split L/R? He rarely played at the beginning of the season and hits lower in the order than his stats would suggest?

Kavadas is giving me major Bubba Bell vibes with how he’s dominating the minors

Kavadas is giving me major Bubba Bell vibes with how he’s dominating the minors I'd agree with you, but that was in the Cal league with the wind blowing balls out of the stadium.

Not much positive to write home about tonight for Salem.
Mayer looks fluid in the field. Looks natural.
Loubier has had increased velocity from his past scouting report. He was sitting 95-97 with a pretty good curveball.
Bonaci had a couple more hard hit balls.
I kinda like Mejicano. He’s got a nice clean swing and had some well-struck outs tonight.
Only a three game sample size, but Blaze has shown me nothing interesting. A lot of weak grounders.

That's a pretty swing...
Interesting is the rock solid consistency of his peripherals. For instance the GO/AO ratio and the isolated discipline have hardly budged as he's made his way up from Florida. For me that's a sign that he hasn't really been tested, that he has carried the same game right to his current gig - no adjustments needed.

Chris, do you know why Mieses is not more highly regarded? Is he a poor fielder or have huge split L/R? He rarely played at the beginning of the season and hits lower in the order than his stats would suggest? The same question could be posed for Pedro Castellanos. Now hitting .325 at Worcester the 24 yr old is bearing a career .299 BA as he has worked his way through the system. Yet you won't find his name among the top 60 prospects in the organization.
