Some of the Red Sox PA leaders this year, how they're doing, and my expectations for the remainder of the season
2. Verdugo - 85 wRC+ - .330 xwOBA so hopefully some progression towards that in the second half
6. Vazquez - 111 wRC+ - we can expect a big drop in this production rest of season
7. Dalbec - 78 wRC+ - we can expect the 1B production to be closer to league average or maybe even slightly higher rest of season with Hosmer here and hopefully at least marginal improvement from Bobby
8. JBJ - 58 wRC+ - Whoever replaces JBJ will inevitably hit much better, and JBJ was more or less playing every day
9. Cordero - 84 wRC+ - Lump this in with Bobby's line
10. Hernandez - 69 wRC+ - I think last year was a bit of an aberration, but he can do better than he has done this year, and if he doesn't hopefully someone else in the remaining OF group can/does
Losing Vazquez is really the only negative here in the bunch, but I do think that replacing JBJ will offset that and some. Even by adding a couple of average hitters like Hosmer and Pham, there is some reason for optimism in terms of offensive improvement. Throw in some progression to the mean by underperformers and games could get less painful going forward.
An X factor I'd also throw in is Duran. It would be great for him to adjust and have a big August/Sept.
