They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

It would be nice to crush the birds playoffs hopes Andino style. Wouldn't really be the same TBH. The 2011 Red Sox had high expectations and suffered a historic September collapse. This years' Orioles team is on a joy ride, seeing sites north of. 500 that they haven't seen in years. They're not expected to make the playoffs. Eventually they will have the burden of expectations and they could become really good and I guess that's when the Sox can pull their own Andino card. But I'd prefer the Sox not to be a doormat for that long.

I remember a rant by Tony Mazz about the Sox every other year been in last place but they had 4 titles. So he blurs out I would give back those titles and have the Sox be competitive every year. I will never forget that. He makes no sense.

I will never forget that. He makes no sense. I agree. Last place sucks, but not as bad as not winning a championship for 85 years and having to constantly hear about it. I'll take feast and famine over 85 wins every year.

Counterpoint: it will make me feel a little bit better Whatever floats your boat. I got nothing against the Orioles. They might be the most likeable team within the division. I've hated the Rays since the Pedro Martinez/Devil Rays days. The ballpark is a trash can filled with annoying cow bells. The Jays players acted like they won the World Series before the season started. The Yankees are the absolute worst. The Orioles have a young exciting team. Beautiful ballpark. Great comfortable seats. They bring the beer to you if you buy good enough seats. The lore of Cal Ripken hanging everywhere. Plenty of history and titles. Baltimore is filled with a lot of crime, but the city itself reminds me a lot like Boston, with it being right off the coast. With plenty to see and do.

Gotta love the demonstrative strike three call on a ball outside the strike zone

Bello throwing some nasty changeups tonight
His fastball was his worst pitch in the minors IMO

Not impressed with Casas so far. What happend to protecting the plate? even if that ball was slightly out, rookies don’t get that call. It’s indefensible for him to walk away with his bat on his shoulder.

Bello throwing some nasty changeups tonight His fastball was his worst pitch in the minors IMO a point was brought that he loses the strike zone, that is the least of my worries. This a legit motion. His pitches are nasty. Bello is the way, the truth, the light out of our starting pitching darkness.
