They put out a statement saying they'd be open to take on minority owners Yeah it sounds like it won't be full control, which makes more sense. I wonder if they are trying to buy another sports franchise? Maybe an NBA team.

This sale will have 0 impact on any MLB free agents, all assets are separate. It's reported they are just looking at minority investors at the time. They could easily be trying to free up funds to make an offer on the Commanders, and we know that the Vegas NBA team rights will require about $2b to acquire

My thought has always been that they were waiting for the Sarver situation to boil over and would pounce at the opportunity to buy the Suns. Looks like that timeline is lining up, but who really knows why they would sell partial ownership until we see their next step.

They're pretty much guaranteed the Vegas team, definitely wouldn't waste that opportunity on Phoenix

This was actually my first reaction as well, but Lebron/Silver have not made an indication that this is really close with Vegas. I wonder if they will be looking into the NFL with the Commanders.

FSG might be best served selling Liverpool outright. Chelsea was sold for $4.25 billion in May 2022. Michael Edwards, Director of Football operations, left within the last year. Klopp, their manager, is likely leaving at the end of the current season. The time is ripe for a sale.

Klopp just signed a multi-year extension, not sure where the likely leaving at the end of the season is coming from.
