Hope to not get my wrist slapped for straying off-topic…
Will be attending spring training games next week for the first time in my life! Any restaurant recommendations in the Ft. Myers area? Burgers, barbecue etc. are about our speed. Thanks!

Nothing super fancy but if you are looking for good food at affordable prices, check out Fat Katz fatkatzsportsbistro.com/It been a few years since I have been there but I went for 7 years running prior to CV19 and this was my goto location.

Blu Sushi is where the SoxProspects.com staff dinner is usually held. Popular with players/coaches/front office staff as well, I believe.

Fat Katz is also my go-to; first dinner on arrival is always the shrimp BLT, blackened. Really high quality for the items they offer and a great beer selection if you're into that. They have a sister restaurant Skinny Dogz in Gateway that only serves breakfast and lunch. If Italian is an option, Two Meatballs in the Kitchen is really good. (Fat Katz is closed Mondays so I need a backup). And Fine Folk pizza (in a small strip mall right before JetBlue) is very good. I'm hoping they still have an outpost inside the park for lunch today.

Echoing the above on Blu and Fine Folk. Latter has great vegan pizzas as well for those who lean more herbivore like myself. The split between the owners of Blu that led to the Gulf Coast Town Center location changing names and then closing was a tragedy of Shakespearean proportions.
I also got Doordash last year on the last night we were there and didn't have access to the rental car from a Chinese place called Let's Eat Estero that was really good but that's all I know about them.
If you want something very quick for lunch and aren't familiar, the subs at Publix are very good. Don't get scared off because it's a supermarket. That's the usual move between morning workouts and afternoon games for the SP crew.

The chicken tender subs are a staple when I visit

We were down there last summer and the places we enjoyed included Dixie Fish Company and Doc Ford's, and we always get ice cream at Daddy Dee's. Liki Tiki on Fort Myers Beach is also a lot of fun, but I'm not sure if they're open right now.

As Chris said, don’t let the supermarket aspect scare you off from Publix. Their delis are electric. Excellent subs and wraps with Boar’s Head cold cuts. Too bad what happened to Sanibel/Captiva, as those were my go-to stops. The Mucky Duck (I believe that was the name) is an awesome beachfront bar/restaurant.

As others have said, I like Two Meatballs in a Kitchen. Ford's Garage in downtown Fort Myers is fun. For special occasions I have had good luck at the Canopy.

Downtown House of Pizza in Fort Myers is also phenomenal. Fat Katz is also great, I ate with Joe Kelly there one time, I'd recommend the pierogis as an app. Probably not surprising, but there's usually a couple players or coaches at Twin Peaks in the evening hours as well
