The year is 2047. The earth has been overrun by a colony of bug-like space aliens. Baseball has become the only entertainment outlet for the subjugated human race. The alien spacelords pledge to free the humans and leave the planet, on one condition: the Portland Sea Dogs announce their 2023 opening day roster. The season has already been long-since played, and all are aware of who was on the team, but no announcement has ever been made.
From atop the Maine Monster, Slugger the Sea Dog sternly crosses his arms and begins to slowly shake his head from side to side. Another year shall pass with no announcement.

In that same reality described above, the WooSox have been postponed every day since April 4, 2023. they are currently scheduled to play hundreds of consecutive quintuple-headers. Each game will be 3 innings and decided by rock-paper-scissors if tied after 3. A now-retired Bryan Mata is scheduled to start the opener.

Feel bad for Christian Koss repeating AA What's going on with Ryan Fernandez? With Koss, it's basically a numbers game. They want Hamilton, Valdez, Goodrum playing regularly and Dalbec, apparently, getting time at short as well. Plus Fitzgerald and Sogard moving around. At some point someone needed to stay in AA. Fernandez, last I heard, is only a week or two behind. |

Ronald Rosario starting on opening day is a surprise I agree. Prior to the rosters being released I would have thought Brooks Brannon, Enderso Lira, Yoberto Mejicano, Daniel McElveney and maybe even Johnfrank Salazar all had greater odds of starting opening day at C. I hope his starting on opening day is reflective of him impressing coaches in camp and not as a much of a reflection on the state of the others. Coffey batting cleanup also a mild surprise, and again, I hope its indicative of him impressing in camp. |

I think I mentioned it elsewhere but I didn't see Brannon in game action while I was there (3/21-27) and didn't even see him in the full drills I saw all the other catchers in. Coffey seemed to be playing "up," following Yorke in games. |
