I'm glad that Youk talked about how aesthetically pleasing Wong's home run was, because I personally was mesmerized by it. Great series win. Considering the state of the injured list and how shaky the starting pitching has been, going into May over .500 is a pretty solid result. Onward!

You, Tears and patford are obsessed. Brings back the Lavarnwayguy memories, you are all just going in circles. Since it's a gameday thread and not the management thread, I view the three of you as trolls. EDIT: ALL of the gameday threads.... EDIT2: I do think that the three of you do periodically add things of value to the topics at hard. Hey, calm down. Nobody said anything offensive and the name calling is out of line. I don't post enough to qualify as a troll. And Champs is a troll? He's one of the best on the board. I've never seen patford act out of line either. And FWIW, I think you add to the discussion some of the time, too. To the reasonable question that patford asked, I have yet to hear a reasonable explanation as to why they low-balled X, leading to his departure. It's been clear to me that their PR strategy once he left was to just lay it on thick with the praise: He's a great player, a great guy, we just couldn't get together on a number, etc., etc. Patford and I pretty much agree on the trade deadline issue, so there's no point in going there again.

I’m very sure that it wasn’t unanimous, but there was certainly a lot of positivity about the Barnes deal as a solid to potentially great value the day after he was extended. Some - not all - of the people who don’t like the Barnes deal now are benefitting from hindsight. It’s a bit different than the Renfroe/JBJ move, which was not a popular decision right from the jump.

Between starts Cora mentioned that they thought he was too mechanical, too robotic. They wanted him to use his athleticism. Apparently Sale agreed. Cora has a scout's eye. “I switched up my delivery a little bit, just trying to get more loose,” said Sale. “Trying to get a little bit more whip back in my arm. I just felt a little stiff the last few times. It was something A.C. brought up. Just need to get a little bit more athletic, get a little bit more fluidity in my delivery. It worked today, so keep rolling.”
“He was moving well from the get go. He made some adjustments,” said Cora. “The extension, and how you get there, is the most important thing. He was getting there the wrong way. But it's all about repetitions. You haven't played in a while. It's hard sometimes. I know he expects a lot from himself, but we’ve got to be patient. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves and [just] be ready for Friday.”www.mlb.com/news/chris-sale-strikes-out-five-earns-win-over-guardians

Other good news - the Blue Jays lost which means we can dream tonight about taking third place in the division with a sweep this week. Winner winner chicken dinner, nice call!!
