I feel like Coffey is generating enough chatter to warrant a thread.

A big change in Coffey’s April to May has been keeping the ball in the park. In 20.2 April innings, he let up 7 HR. In 23 innings across May, he only let up 3. Helped to lower his ERA from a solid 3.92 in April to a dominant 1.96 in May.

Reverse splits so far
.179/.207/.333 39% K vs LHB .228/.271/.465 32% K vs RHB
Not what you'd expect with that delivery

It's even more pronounced than that: he allowed 10 homers in his first six starts (3.98 ERA, 5.12 RAA), and zero in his last three. Not a coincidence that it also aligns with his scoreless streak. Can't really say that three starts is worth much - Hickory is one of the teams he faced, and they have just a .109 Iso as a team all season, but Bowling Green is another and that's a pretty powerful squad.

Sorry but this really hit me as funny. You can`t give up a HR in a scoreless streak.

Heh, yeah that was sorta funny phrasing. Bigger point was that he was still giving up a good number of runs despite very good strikeout and walk numbers, and then the homers stopped and he hasn't allowed any kind of run since.
