Even in HS it generally takes a good athlete to play SS. Don't hate taking as many SS/good athletes and sorting the rest out later on if enough pan out.

Seattle seems to be winning this draft.

Just a reminder in HS the best players/athletes usually play SS so it makes sense to draft them if move them if we need to or trade them for pitching which i think is the way to go because FA are going foot way too much money. Better off stacking hitters and trading some.

Red Sox clearly have a type. Just read an article saying that Anderson and a classmate started a fashion company called Anti-local. Pure speculation here, but turning pro and forgoing college would allow him to continue his side hustle, no? I just remember Greg Anthony running afoul with the NCAA back in the day because of his t-shirt company.

Next year just sort the draft list by DOB from youngest to oldest and you are likely to find a Red Sox pick or two. lol this is pretty much what I did and I ended up with Anderson and Zanetello on a list of like 7 guys
Might have got all three if Kyle Teel dropping didn't force their hand

Who did the Padres take? Draft tracker being weird with that pick.

Give me one of Smith, Sorrell, or Wolkow now and I’m giddy
I’d assume Johnson, Roch, Pratt are all college bound
For college names Roc Riggio could be fun and give you the 2B with power we missed out on with Shaw.

George Wolkow (6'7, youngest player in the draft) and Caden Sorrell are two Sox types left, although I would expect we're all done getting them

I am no scout, but that looks like a nice swing from both sides and he impacts the ball from both sides as well. Nice bat speed and smooth through the zone from both sides. Lots to dream on here, I think. Am I wrong?

Better off stacking hitters and trading some. Agreed. My buddy who played SS in middle school was lefty... but he was the only one who could field the position at all (not even that good an athlete honestly). You play SS when you're young because no one else has the quick-twitch that you do...

Carico is one of my favorites and still on the board. Can’t take 2 college catchers but I like his upside

I have no issues with draft the high end bat and figure out the position as long as that position can be something other than full time DH. These kids are athletic enough to bring positive defensive value to some position.

i’m not going to lie, these 3 picks so far are way way way way good. Teel was a dream got him, then scoping the best name in the draft kid looks like he’s got a ton of potential also RHH is a beautiful grab at 50 then a switch hitting HS SS who is top 75 at 83 is another great pick. I love the way Bloom drafts. I knew when we got him it was going to be about building the farm and being patient with ML because he wasn’t going to overpay. I love his approach. Keep drafting studs. Build them and be interested in every FA at the right price. Pay your home grown talent when they are young and when the farm is good enough trade some pieces to get the ML team over the top. If Bloom is still in charge in 3 years i think we will be special. Dynasty type mindset.

Still holding hopes for Wolkow, but more likely we'll start seeing college pitchers here.

And Cooper Pratt is just sitting there, speaking of a "type."
